You guessed it, i 'm talking about the OCs tournament...I'm..empty of any energy, i don't wanna go on with this anymore...Already 30 pages and so much to do, and for nothing...
I do have many reasons for stopping it, i was naive, and since i like wanted to catch people attention (yeah, i know, it's bad), i thought something involving others's OCs would push my webcomic forward, but no, it failed...Sure i do have readers, sure it's not that bad, but i would have them no matter what, tournament or not.
i must admit, i didn't got that much return for the event, only a few people took the time to talk about my webcomic; commenting, and showing any form of support...No, in stead of that, i have people only commenting when their character is visible, or ranting because their OC lost, without a "thank you"...
Owning a webcomic, is an hard work, you have to draw your page every week, no matter what, it has to be good and catch people attention, you have to take care of your website, but also, mangae your DA or facebook page, feeding people with content, if you don't want them to leave...There's so much webcomics on the internet, and most of them are free, people are not waiting for you, and if you don't have what they want, well, they'll read something else. It's a lot of pressure, and stupid me, i'm over sensitive and don't like pressure (who does ?).
I'm an stats-whore, and seeing them not moving for one year that's telling me, that somewhere, i failed. I dunno...People say "it's not because i don't comment, that i'm not reading it", ok but how can i know it, if you leave no traces...
I was surely too demanding, i should except nothing from such a event, even if i had a few good surprises (like
3 pages comic)...That wasn't a bad experience either, it helped me to progress, that's for sure.So....What now? First things first, i'll take a break, i really need one, i think, things will getting clearer after this. There's pics, i want to work on, i also want to open a few commissions slots,and there is another comic project, i working on.
AS for BSG, it's not dead...Well i hope it's not, it draw my OCs, because i like them, i do have a story wrote by my friend
and it's possible that's i'll turn it into a comic. But maybe i'll not upload a page a week...i'll see...
